We have great pleasure in welcoming you to our Autumn Concert; necessarily distanced, of course, due to COVID restrictions. We have missed the buzz of large ensemble rehearsals and live performance, but are hopeful that some measure of normality can return by the Summer term, vaccines and a reduction in social distancing permitting.
Our students have been extremely proactive in their preparations and we have a varied and interesting selection of repertoire for you to enjoy. Given that our entire co-curricular provision had to be rethought at the start of term, most of the ensembles performing here are doing so for the first time. Our approach has been firmly inclusive; especially in these times, we feel that participation is of greater value than perfection and all our ensembles are open to whoever wishes to join.
We are extremely proud of the students performing here; they have all given up a considerable amount of their time to be involved. Their dedication and commitment have been inspirational and we thank them for embracing the ‘new order’ of things with such verve and enthusiasm.
I would like to thank my colleagues, Mr Johns, Miss Sturge and Miss Shipley for their support and never-ending positivity; also, the wonderful parents who make up the Tiffin Girls’ Music Society (TGMS) committee. Without them, none of this would have been possible and we are deeply grateful for all their efforts.
If you are able to show your support by making a donation to TGMS or becoming a member, that would be much appreciated. By joining their ranks, you're not only helping us on an ongoing basis with your subscription, but you also have the chance to shape the future direction of music at our wonderful school.November 2020
