Introduction

On behalf of the music department and all the students involved, it gives me enormous pleasure to present our Christmas Concert for 2020. Coming so soon after our release of the repertoire selected for Autumn, it has been a very quick turnaround; we are, however becoming more adept at using the technology involved in recording, editing and producing these video clips. Please also take a moment to enjoy Silent Night, our most ambitious ‘tiled’ choir video to date.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all who participated; to those who recorded vocal introductions to each piece, who gave many hours of their time to rehearse and record the repertoire and to Mr Johns, Miss Sturge and Miss Shipley for their extraordinary level of dedication and commitment to music at Tiffin Girls’.

This has truly been a term like no other I can remember in nearly thirty years of teaching, but we have emerged from it having learnt new skills which will serve us well in the future. We know that the students have also enjoyed being part of music-making at school, after being isolated from it since March; their spirit, camaraderie and enthusiasm has been a joy to witness.

None of this would have been possible without the support we receive from TGMS. I would like to thank them hugely for their moral, technical and financial support this term; we have needed every last ounce of it. To all who read this, we thank you for watching and also for your support and encouragement of the students in their many endeavours.
